One of the most interesting ads in the world.

Mondays are all about DRAMA...

But we'll have none of that...
This was an advert for the Young Director Awards 2010 by TBWA.

Conan the Entertainer!

American Express roped Conan O'Brien into an excellent ad campaign.  Not only does it advertise American Express and tell you what American Express is all about, it also advertises Conan and what he does... A Win / Win for all involved (plus I am pretty sure Conan didn't do this for free, cha ching).

The message is clear and the ads are entertaining... they work like they should.  Smooth as silk!

What do you think?

A good cause.

A nice campaign for a good cause.

A poster paints a 1,000 words.

Some posters I found that got me thinking - which means they worked.

Be a Marmite kinda product...

So Marmite have just launched a new site - The Marmite Sandwich planner...

I like the idea, it makes me wanna go get some Marmite and I think it is a memorable concept that would be passed along.   Great execution and a nice way of taking an older brand into the digital era, and get us playing with the product.  I think the free prize (limited stock) is a bit miss matched, I would want something cooler...

Click HERE to make your Bespoke Marmite Sarmie and receive free back massage vouchers (while stocks last)

Is this the real life?

Augmented Reality - helping consumers touch, feel and be your brand in a way that has never been possible in the past.

See what Tissot watches did to get their watches in the hands, well actually on the wrists of there consumers.

What a great way to make consumers feel connected to your brand.

Its alive!

Hot Wheels show us how to use 3D projecting right.  The next step in getting the end user involved, excited and focused on your brand.

I can think a few iconic places for this to be used in Cape Town.

Mc Patricks Day!

To celebrate St Patrick and put forward its Shamrock Shake, what have McDonalds done.

Every year, the Chicago River and the Calumet River are adorned with a green Irish, incidentally us a very strange but is explained by an anecdote. To verify that there have leaks, the plumbers of the city of Chicago inject painting biodegradable in both rivers, they quickly realized that this was the same color green as the famous Irish green. March 17 is therefore quite naturally become the day of audit.
The agency Leo Burnett therefore take this event to scripted a Shamrock Shake giant, the objective here is to demonstrate the proximity of the brand and its adaptation to local customs but also to generate free media space.

Check the news report

Yes it is St Paddy's Day - and Guinness tell us how to prepare.

Guinness have released 3 ads telling you how to behave like men on St Patricks Day.  These ads were released on Facebook and Youtube.  Interesting, I didn't think the Irish had computers?

So funny I wanna cry, but crying is not allowing for Guinness Men.

Here we go!

Flash, ah ha, in Woolworths!

So a few weeks ago, Woolworths decided to launch their new range of boots with a flash mob dance scene in the Woolworths Store in Canal Walk.

This is what went down:

This is what I thought of the flash mob launch idea:

Although I love the idea of the Flash Mob and wish more companies would use the concept, I think Woolworths missed the boat a little.  The point of a Flash Mob is to reinforce your brand or product and I think the launch of the Woolworths boots were missed - not in an EPIC FAIL way, but it a MEDIOCRE FAIL way.  Next time make sure you get your message across.

Still a nice try!

5 Things I learnt about Social Media today:

1. You don’t have a business without customers, so promote your customers (not your business)

2. Get people to share and give customers positive things to talk about

3. Put out social media fire with social media water
